Diane began learning to groove in the Royal Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps (1980) and continued with a trip to DCI finals in 1982 with the 27th Lancers Drum & Bugle Corps (Revere, MA). In 1983 she met the members of the current ensemble while in the Steel City Ambassadors snare line; during the summer of 1985 Diane was chosen to join the pit ensemble with Sandy, Dave and Irv, an honor indeed! Until that time “The Brothers” were a 20-year trio of rhythm.
Grateful for the chance to play with Pittsburgh legends, Diane is on a quest to create a rhythmic pocket with a funky bottom. As an educator Diane holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and teaches at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Clarion University. Recently Diane served as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Royal Crusaders Percussion Ensemble (1998-2001).
